Lycee V
An old abandoned girls school somewhere in Belgium.
Used to call "school of the young ladies".
Built in 1865 by architects Benoît and Vanderstraeten.
The inside of the building is very bright thanks to its courtyard
covered with a glass roof that was used as the playground.
The classrooms were on two levels around the courtyard.
In 1881, the school was taken over by the State and became a High School
in 1925 and got the name Lyceum.
In 1946, it received the title of Royal Atheneum, but to avoid confusion
with the school for boys, she took the name of Royal Lycée.
In 1949, the school became too small to house more students, so they moved
elsewhere. Shortly after, it became a nursing school for a while.
Since 2001, the property is owned by the Public Water Management Company
(SPGE) which has promised to restore it, but still remains in decay today.
