Chateau Belle-Baraque
This is a classic chateau somewhere in Belgium. The U-shaped
construction was built between 1726 and 1734 in a big park.
The property is the addition of two castles alongside with a chapel. The
oldest dating from the 17th century is abandoned but still owned by
the family. The second castle right next to it is still inhabited by the owners.
The inside of the chateau has a Rococo style decoration: stucco and
remarkable woodwork. The furniture and the interior decoration of the castle
are vintage. In the park, you can admire chestnut trees more than 600 years
old.
The chateau remains in decay but with no possible entry. The town is
considering to renovate it in the near future to use it as a museum.
