Cheratte
An abandoned coal mine somewhere in Belgium.
The first well was dug in 1850 to extract dice coal .
The mine had to close in 1877 for the first time, due to a horrible accident to one of the mineworkers.
In 1907 it was re-opened and was operational until 1977.
In the beginning of the 21st century, the mine closed its doors.
Since then it was left in decay and became a hotspot for urban explorers.
The demolition of several buildings were planned for 2016, but I believe it's postponed for later 2017.
