Chateau Sécession

A beautiful French Baroque style chateau somewhere in France.Originally built in 1753, while the castle had only one floor.

A drawing of the chateau from the beginning of the 19th century before the second floor was added.

In 1853, the castle added a second floor by the new owner.

a postcard of the chateau in 1916

During WO I the village had the good fortune to stay away from the front lines, which did not prevent the castle from being occupied by a German General Staff in 1914, then damaged by bombing and looted by the troops.

After the war, The Viscount had the chateau restored and left it to his daughter.

During WO II unfortunately again occupied by german forces, then long remained uninhabited after the war and sold in 1985 by a Parisian lawyer, but was left in decay since then...

A picture of the chateau after WO II, empty inside.

It was a fantastic find, so much history left in the chateau. especially treasures from the war when it was occupied by the germans. One of the best urbex adventures I had.

Recently the chateau has been completely emptied, hopefully the owner claimed it all and was not looted by thieves...
